I think I have a thing going with this whole mask thing. Whether or not its actually a good thing or not is another thing entirely.
Drums of War is meant to be a figure of battle. One who signals the charge and leads the rest into the fray. She fights with precision and force and moves with the grace of a bird in flight.
It's part based on idea of a bird of prey, with their keen eyes and fast instincts, and part based on my friend and her costume for drumming. She's one of the toughest people I know and thinking of her helped when painting this. (I'm also 99% certain that she'll see this so I'm really hoping she doesn't mind.)

My heart kind of skipped a beat when you mentioned you were thinking of me. Pretty much touched my heart right there.
Of course I do not mind. I love you, even if I sometimes have a hard time expressing it on some days.
You should take a peek at Plague Doctors and their masks too, they are pretty cool for inspiration.
